Lifelong friendships are formed at school and former students remember their days here with great affection. Fatima Day 2012 – Mass and High Tea

Old Girls Cocktail Party Thursday 10th May 2012.

Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convent School held its annual “Fatima Day”where the current and past girls and teachers gathered to celebrate their school. The celebrations started with a Cocktail party the evening before.

Cindy Botha Matriculated in 2002

Studied at UKZN for a Bachelor of Social Science , completed a Teaching Degree and honours in Special Needs. Graduating Cum Laude. She represented S.A. U18 and U21 in the Junior World Cup . and in 2009 was selected for the Senior Women's S.A. Team In 2011 she participated in the Senior Women's World Cup in Argentina and The European tour to Holland ,Belgium and Ireland and has now been selected for the Olympic squad for the 2012 Olympics.

Happy Feet at Wellington Zoo with Vet Lisa Argilla a Fatima old girl, matric 1997

Veterinary surgeon Dr Lisa Argilla examines an emperor penguin nicknamed "Happy Feet", at Wellington Zoo. Usually found in Antarctica, the penguin attracted worldwide media attention when it arrived on a New Zealand beach a week ago. It underwent surgery on Monday at Wellington Zoo to remove sand and sticks from its stomach.

Jacki Bruniquel

Jacki Bruniquel is an accomplished mixed media artist and photographer who specializes in portraits and unique and creative wedding photographs. After finishing her Matric Jacki completed a Fine Art Degree at Michaelis Fine Art School at U.C.T. and then majored in Photography After 6 years of travel she completed a Photographic Degree at Durban Technicon .Jacki has been profiled on Top Billing on more than one occasion and was also a finalist in the Nikon Africa Photographic Awards last year. She was included in the book ‘Women on Women, a History of Women Photographers in South Africa.

Lungelo Dhladhla

Lungelo Dhladhla matriculated in 2005 and went to AFDA School of Performance and Motion Picture to study a BA Honours degree in Production Design.Apart from being a Production Designer, she is also an actress having featured in numerous South Africa drama series in the past three years. She was a lead actress in a South African version of Romeo and Juliet called Gugu NoAndile, and won the Best Promising actress at the AMAA in Nigeria in 2009. This drama series also won the Best Youth film in the film festival in Kenya. It also has been nominated for the (SAFTA) South African Film and Television awards which were held this year 2010. Lungelo also featured in Soul City 9 as a supporting lead, this production has also been nominated as the best ensemble production at the SAFTA 2010. She has also featured as the lead in one of the coco-cola commercial for the 5 ALIVE JUICES which were broadcasted in South Africa for one year. 2011 came and she was known as Buhle the farm girl who starred in INTERSEXIONS alongside Moxolisi Majozi “Zulu Boy”: Siya B and Nolwazi Shange. Currently she is heading her own school called Egugulethu Junior primary school which was founded by her mother Ntombizonke Dhladhla the first black private primary to cater for the community of Inanda.

Fatima Day 2011

On Friday 13th May the school held its inaugural Fatima Day. The day began with tours around the school followed by Mass in the church and then the cutting of the schools birthday cake and ending with a luncheon under the tree outside the hall. Past teachers , pupils and friends of Fatima joined for the celebrations. This event will be an annual event and will happen on the second Friday of May as close to the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima as possible. If you were unable to attend please diarise this event so that you will be able to attend the one in 2012.

Cindy Botha

Cindy Bothe who matriculated in 2002 has achieved the highest honours in hockey by being selected to play for South Africa in the National Woman’s team.Her passion for her sport as well as a relentless urge to become a good a player as possible as placed her firmly as a role model that continues to inspire school athletes and prove that with dedication and tenacity it can bring you the rerds you dream of.

Andrea Mellon

Andrea Mellon who matriculated in 2008 is the President of Rotaract Durban. Rotaract has been going for 48 years This is for people aged between 18 and 35

Matric 50 years ago

A celebration for the first Our Lady of Fatima Dominican Convnet School Matricuants who wrote their Matric 50 years ago.

In December 0f 2010 the Matric Class of 2000 had their 10 year reunion at the school.
