SPORTS CO-ORDINATOR: NETBALL

January 2027

The co-ordinator of netball is responsible for the strategic leadership, development, organisation and promotion of netball within the school. The role aims to maximise participation, foster competitive excellence, development of players and coaches, and ensure that all aspects of the netball programme align with the school’s values and sporting vision.

Duties will include:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the school’s netball programme, including long-term planning and development.
  • Develop a clear player pathway from junior to senior levels, ensuring consistency in coaching philosophy and skills progression.
  • Oversee all netball teams, including selection, training, performance monitoring and coaching where required.
  • Implement player development initiatives such as clinics, conditioning programmes, pre-season preparation and talent identification.
  • Recruit, manage and mentor coaches, ensuring ongoing professional development and high coaching standards. Coordinate the annual fixture programme, tournaments, festivals and all associated logistics in collaboration with the Head of Sport.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, safeguarding requirements and relevant Netball South Africa regulations.
  • Manage administration and communication, including records, results, statistics, parent communication and stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist with budgeting, resource management, sponsorship opportunities and promotion of netball achievements.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive netball culture that promotes participation, wellbeing, teamwork, resilience and the values of the school.
